The 10th National Congress of Vietnamese Trade Unions was sucessfully organised in Hanoi from 3 to 5 November 2008 with participation of 986 local delegates and 33 international delegates and some representatives from diplomatic missions accredited to Vietnam.
At the Congress, a new Executive Committee was elected with 160 members headed by Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung who was reelected to be VGCL President for the 10th Tenure (2008 - 2013). Five Vice Presidents of the VGCL were reelected namely Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Thanh, Mr. Mai Duc Chinh, Mr. Nguyen Van Ngang and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong.
