  Cooperation activities between the VGCL and DGB (Germany) 
In the implementation of 2008 cooperation plan in the framework of the project between the VGCL and DGB (Germany), in last October, three Seminars on "Empowering trade unions in CRS promotion in Vietnam" were held by the VGCL in coordination with Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB) in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.

     
 
   
  VGCL-DGB Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibilities 
The Seminar on "Empowering trade unions in CRS promotion in Vietnam" was held in Hanoi on 17 October 2008 by the VGCL in coordination with Confederation of German Trade Unions (DGB) under the chair of VGCL Vice President Nguyen Thi Thu Hong and Mr. Dieter Eich, Ph.D, Director of the National Training Center of the DGB in Germany.

     
 
   
VGCL – LO-TCO: Evaluation meeting for cooperation programmes 
On 21 April 2008, in Hanoi, an evaluation meeting for the outcomes of the Programme "Study Circles for Team Leaders" between VGCL and LO-TCO was taken place with the co-chair by VGCL Vice President Mai Duc Chinh and Mr. Anders Backstrom from LO-Sweden.

     
   
  Seminar on Trade Unions with Salary Policy in Textile-Garment Industry 
The Seminar on Trade Unions with Salary Policy in Textile-Garment Industry was recently organised by the VGCL in coordination with LO-Norway with participation of key officers of LO-Norway, representatives of MOLISA and 25 trade unionists most of which belong to textile-garment industry of Vietnam. VGCL Vice President Mai Duc Chinh attended and made his remarks at the opening session.

     
 
   
Seminar on "Finalizing labour legislation of Vietnam – German experiences" 
On 10 March 2008, VGCL Senior Vice President Nguyen Hoa Binh chaired the above-titled Seminar with participation of representatives from 17 federations of labour and 10 national industrial unions. Presented at the Seminar were Mr. Joerg Bergstermann, Resident Representative of FES-Hanoi Office and Pro. PhD. Wolfgang Daeubler, specialist of German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB).

     
   
  Seminar "Tripartism – Role and participation of trade unions" 
About 60 participants inlcuding 11 international delegates from 8 countries in the region participated in the Seminar on "Tripartism – Role and participation of trade unions" taken places in Hai Phong from 13 to 14 December 2007.

     
 
   
  VGCL/LO-Norway Seminar on Trade Unions and the Policy on Wages in the non-State sector 
Within the framework of bilateral coooperation programme with the LO-Norway, in the morning of 7 September 2006, a Seminar on "Trade Unions and the Policy on Wages in the non-State sector" was held by the VGCL in Hanoi.

     
 
   
LO Norway - VGCL cooperation activities in July & August 
Within the framework of the Cooperation Program between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and LO Norway, in July and August 2006, the VGCL has organized 6 activities altogether including: 02 Training-of-Trainer Advanced Courses, 02 Training Workshops on Organizing and Member Recruitment, 01 Training Workshop on Gender Equality and 01 Seminar on Migrant Workers.

     
   
  VGCL/LO-Norway Seminar on Trade Unions and Migrant Workers 
The Seminar on "Trade Union and Migration Workers" was jointly opened by the VGCL and the LO-Norway in the morning of 6 July 2006.

     
 
   
VGCL- LO Norway Cooperation 
The new Cooperation Program Agreement for the period from 2006-2009 between VGCL and LO Norway has been concluded recently. Basing on the priorities of VGCL in the coming time, the Cooperation Program concentrates on recruiting members, building harmony relation at the enterprises, gender equality, more training for trainers, raising capacity of trade union officials and promoting participation of trade union in the labour-related issues.

     
   
Vietnam - Sweden Trade Unions Cooperation 
From 05 to 13 April 2006, Ho Chi Minh Federation of Labour (HCMFL) and industrial union (IF) of Sweden jointly organised 2 training courses for trade union officials in Textile and Garment industry in Ho Chi Minh City.

As reported, the training course for 10 core Cambodian trade union officials was organised in Ho Chi Minh City from 27 March to 3 April 2006.

     
 
   
Joint seminar between VNUHW and SKTF-Kommunal (Sweden) 
Within the framework of the bilateral cooperation programme, the SKTF-Kommunal (Sweden) jointly organised the first Seminar in 2006 on "Collective bargaining, gender issues and OHS at the workplace" in coordination with the Vietnam National Union of Health Workers (VNUHW), from 27 to 29 March 2006 in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province.

     
   
VGCL to organise a short-term training course for Cambodian trade union officials 
In the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the VGCL and Cambodia Confederation of Trade Unions (CCTU), the VGCL will organise the second short-term training course for CCTU officials from 27 March to 3 April 2006 in Ho Chi Minh City. The CCTU was formed by the merge of 9 national trade union centres in Cambodia.
